When you live in Boston, and it’s the middle of January, how do you tell your wife and the mother of your 4 sons that you have to go to Orlando, Florida, Disney World, for work? If you’re like me, you don’t. You send her a text and leave in the middle of the night.Recently I had the pleasure of teaming with my fellow RESonians Gene Bonacci and Josh Goodstein to sponsor the Citrix annual Sales Kick Off (SKO) in the Peabody hotel and convention center in the heart of sunny Orlando, Florida. The weather was pleasant but certainly not what I would call ... READ MORE>>

By Sean Donahue, Senior Director Global Alliance MarketingToday Citrix announced the release of XenDesktop 5.5 and what promises to be one of the most feature rich desktop virtualization products in the company’s 20-year history. I had the distinct honor (again) of being debriefed by the fine folks at Citrix, and let me tell you, as a long time Citrix SME, I have seen many a version come out of Ft. Lauderdale and can honestly say this one has me tingling with excitement. XenDesktop 5.5 has countless features (such as Flash over WAN) to provide a turbo-charged user experience, especially over higher latency networks. ... READ MORE>>

At RES, we’re just getting settled back in from a great week at Citrix Synergy in San Francisco. The excitement on the Synergy expo floor and the RES booth was palpable. So many attendees were streaming through the expo looking for the best solutions to enhance their existing Citrix deployments or to jumpstart their latest Citrix projects. Of course, there was tons of buzz following some awesome keynotes from Mark Templeton and other Citrix executives. Not surprisingly, top of mind for a lot of people this year was the transformation from the traditional physical desktop to the user-centric “hybrid desktop.” More ... READ MORE>>May

Whether you look at it from a device perspective, or at the delivery platform level, it’s become abundantly clear that there is no longer such thing as a homogenous IT environment. Today’s users are too dynamic and require too much flexibility for the traditional approach to IT. RES has spent a lot of time defining this newly emerging “hybrid desktop” trend, and helping customers adapt to the quickly changing needs of users. Part of our commitment to the hybrid desktop movement is collaborating with other technology providers to really define what this change means, and how we can help customers get ahead of it. One of the most important things to consider is ... READ MORE>>

Some technology partner programs may be just a label — but others are major accomplishments Hello. My name is Sean Donahue and I am the new guy here at RES starting on a brilliant team doing marketing for some really stellar products. OK, enough of the pandering to my new boss. I had planned my very first blog post as an RES employee to be around the technology and the value things like RES Dynamic Desktop Studio brings to the diverse world of desktop virtualization projects in managing User Persona. But I noticed recently that there is a lot of static coming across the wires lately about different vendors’ partner programs. ... READ MORE>>
