Sean Donahue The excitement was palpable today at Synergy as Citrix announced the release of XenDesktop 7. There is little irony in the fact that the entire audience was snapping pictures, capturing video, live tweeting and more from their mobile devices as Citrix announced they were bringing Windows apps and Desktops to the mobile world.

If you are like me, you live on a variety of devices and change those devices several times a day, yet your job and the work you do doesn’t “change.” Take this blog as an example. I started it on my desktop based Dell laptop. I then continued it on my iPad and made last minute

  • IT uses an application provisioning solution like System Center Configuration Manager, application virtualization or application publishing, to install, distribute or grant access to the requested application

AppSense is the best kind of competitor to have. They spring from the same space as RES Software, but they’re pursuing a starkly different vision. And it’s this

Years and years ago if a user wanted a service from IT, they would call the help desk and open a request or ticket. That could be a request for applications, printers, a new peripheral or even a password or pin reset. The user’s whole experience with IT requests was dominated by a call to the help desk and then: hurry up and wait. Why? Because that help desk agent had to seek approval requests, do resource discovery, acquire the requested service and then deliver the service to the end user. All ... READ MORE>>
