It’s funny how some of the universal truths of the world we live in can be directly translated in the world of IT. For example, getting philosophical, I’ll reference the well known Maslow’s "hierarchy of needs". Most of us would like to believe that we are at the top level of this pyramid, self actualization. It’s easy to see that IT professionals are busy people. During prosperous times, they are busy implementing new technologies and diving into new projects. Yet during financial downturns, they are even more busy because they still face the same level of expectations but are given lower budgets.
