How-to make exceptions to the global RES PowerFuse configuration for a group of users on the same or specific RES PowerFuse Agent?

When you have set RES PowerFuse as the default shell on a Workstation /Laptop or you have configured RES PowerFuse as an initial program to start when a user logs on to a Terminal Server, every user that will logon to that RES PowerFuse Agent will receive the same global settings, like Security, Desktop Lockdown and Behavior etc.

In RES PowerFuse 2010 it’s possible to create exceptions for a group of users that are logging on to the same or specific RES PowerFuse Agents. For example when Helpdesk users are logging on the RES PowerFuse Agent the Security node should be disabled but when a normal user is logging on to the same RES PowerFuse Agent the security option should be enabled.

You can achieve this by creating minimal 2 Workspace Containers. One with Access Control for the normal users and the other with Access Control for the Helpdesk users. Both Workspace Containers should contain all the RES PowerFuse Agents you want to manage:

When you have created both Workspace Containers you can create the exceptions by clicking the [+] on Setup > Workspace Model in the RES PowerFuse Management Console:

Add both Workspace containers as exception:

Now you can configure setting based on Workspace Container. Keep in mind that only the Workspace Containers that are different from the Global setting is showed in the node were you making an exception to.

For example when you Enable Application Security on global level and you disable it on a specific Workspace Container only that Workspace container is showed in the Security > Applications node, because the other Workspace container that you have added to the Workspace Model is not different from the Global setting.
