Focus

Focus, when you look this up on Wikipedia you will get as result

Focus (computing), a component of the graphical user interface which is currently selected”

So focus is important for users, when they select an application that application should get focus and not some other application or object in their Workspace.

RES PowerFuse in Combination with RES Subscriber (or RES Workspace Extender) creates a cohesive environment between local installed applications and a central desktop. This gives the user the experience of a single desktop with all his applications. When the user selects one of those applications that application, local or remote, will get the focus.

Unfortunately because of the different ways applications handle focusing of their own windows (e.g. Word handles multiple documents totally different than Excel), in some situation the focus on (subscribed) applications did not work properly. Potentially frustrating users.

But we have great news, Friday 24th of April RES Software Release Service Release 5 of RES PowerFuse 2008 and Service Release 5 of RES PowerFuse Subscriber and Workspace Extender. Those new versions will solve a lot of those focus issues.

When you encounter focus issues at the moment with previous version of RES PowerFuse and RES PowerFuse subscriber, we advise you to test the new releases. You also can engage RES Support (if you have a valid SA) to help you solving the focus Issues.

Please let us know if your Application focus issues are solved!
